jollyevil asked: the thing about kennesaw is Cowboys, where a girl can go and get herself a genuine man in tight worn jeans with a truck who will toss her around the room (in a good way!) and call her darlin'. also there's nice nature there and i've never been shot at while walking around consuming substances there.
And that’s perfectly fine—if you like that kind of thing! Personally, that’s not really my cup of tea (the Cowboys thing) and frankly sounds kind of terrifying. You see, the thing about Atlanta is places like, say, The Flat Iron, where a girl can go get a beer and also a genuine man—with or without a truck, does that really matter?—who wouldn’t dare call her darlin’ because she would punch him in the fucking face!
Also, there are nice parks and old houses with character and interesting restaurants and a level of tolerance and diversity that I have never been able to find in the suburbs. I mean, I know it exists, but it’s just not as overwhelmingly apparent. OH! AND! I live in southeast Atlanta and have for almost seven years and jog all over the place and walk my dogs and go to the bars and I haven’t been shot at either. Go figure!
