I would add that our kind of traffic problems — again, based on distance more than congestion — indicate we should be looking for different kinds of solutions than the ones normally pitched. Telecommuting, for instance, could save people who continue to gravitate away from the city of Atlanta far more time and fuel than any addition to roads or transit.
